CRT has successfully developed a model of analyzing the debates, questions raised and the answers the Government is tabling in the state legislative assembly and council. This model has been developed with the assistance of UNICEF since 2005. From mere listing in 2005 we have moved into qualitative and quantitative analysis of questions and answers, and also into mapping the performance of each legislator with respect to questions raised by them on children’s issues – at the state level, district level and then at their individual constituency level. This exercise has also influenced legislators to raise questions and issues on the floor of the house on issues pertaining to children. The publication with credits to UNICEF will be distributed among legislators, academicians, media, NGOs and support agencies.

The findings of the observatory on child rights will play a major role in supplementing issues to be included in this activity. The publication on the analysis acts as advocacy material for use in the subsequent years. With the past experience we (along with UNICEF) need to work towards developing a methodology and means to institutionalize this study in the coming years.
